It's the end of the road! The final episode of The Barge is now live on YouTube. I have to say it was quite an experience making such a detailed series, and a part of me is glad that it's over so that I can move on to the next…

This is The Wife speaking! So, the Episode 2 of The Barge is now published. After Kaustav built the barge out of styrene as you saw in Episode 1 (If you haven't, find it at the bottom of this post), he needed to paint and weather it. Now, you can…

If you have followed my work, then you know that primary material for making models have been paper - for a long time. Though I have used variety of materials throughout my life to make models, this time I decided to build something only with Styrene, barring the fine details.…

On my way back home from Seattle, I was heading towards the S Gates in the Seattle Tacoma International Airport and I had to take the inter-terminal train. I took the escalator down and as I was approaching the portal, there it was - a display of three capsules, full…

The #littleengine finally has its identity. Still some add on details to add, and have to finish decaling the other loco too.
Trying out some new paint peeling techniques that gives more dimension and depth. I know DHR lover will object to this since generally all DHR locos are very well maintained most of the time, so let's say that 604 is due for a paint job!
You cannot have a locomotive without an aging and weathered control port!
Thought I would get going with the embellishments before starting with the decals.
Finally done with painting. It’s a long 24-48 hours wait before I can start decaling. It’s a very sore progress due to time crunch, but I’m quite excited to be able to see the finish line.
Side to second photo for details.
This is the HOn30 model of the Indian Railways NDM6 in the making - just finishied hardwiring the electronics - LokSound Micro-V4, ZIMO SACC16 stay alive and a sugar cube speaker. It's a factory default steam decoder, yet to reprogram it for diesel sound - hence the unique and very confusing sound in this video.
This is the first test run of #indianrailways #ndm6 in #hon30scale or #hoescale - just plugged in the decoder , no programming or stay alive yet. more to come soon. :)

What a crazy year it was! Miniatures and model railroading saved my sanity and gave me focus and balance. I cannot be thankful enough for all the love and encouragement I received from all of you. No, I definitely couldn't do as much as I hoped, but that was life in 2020 for most of humanity, so I am focussing on what I could do. Here are some of my work from this year and some of my favorite photos. Hopefully 2021 will see more models and better content off my humble 'little' workspace.
The dome!
